Message on the occasion of Rationalist Day

Our organization, the Science and Rationalists’ Association of India has completed 19 years of its activities, and is turning 20 on March 1, 2004 . we feel that the need to intensify the Rationalist movement is over-increasing. In a country, where even scientists and political leaders are immersed in superstition and various obscurantist ideas, we need constant guidance and feedback from all like-minded people to strengthen our movement.

The religious extravaganza, the divisive communal forces are gaining undue importance, where as matters like social inequality, instances of social injustice atrocities are without public notice.

Our common people have no idea about what is humanism, what is human rights. Our effort to introduce Humanism as a substitute to religion need a total understanding of rationalism as a philosophy, as a way of life. Scientific rational temperament in the common man is to be developed at a far greater pace.

We need all rational people to think together, keep in touch, exchange ideas and spread our views at their own way.
