What a bit-full ( Chhondomoy) name! Perfectly fits with the 4 bits in the bole of Kaharba in Tobla. Take Tete Nage Dhin, - Dhage Tete Nage Dhin. Mis – Ter Hila Mia.

But this name is not something to enjoy. It is a resounding slap on the face of humanity in the name of Islam once again. And he is not a fictitious character as well. He very much exists, as recently reported in newspaper. Also he was there always, hardly reported before. He was there about 50 years ago in Comilla, as one from there told me. He was/is a mentally retarded man in the village. Whenever a woman is made "divorced" by Fatwa, Hila Mia was /is called to sit down as the bridegroom to marry her. And instructed to pass the night under the bed on the floor. And instructed to divorce her next morning so that the former husband can marry her again. This way the physical chastity of the woman could be saved. In return he gets some fabulous foods of his wild dream plus few bucks and becomes very happy. What an "Islami" drama!

What we learn from him? We learn that in case of a wife gets divorced,

  1. Even if sexual interaction is not mentioned in the Qur’aan ( 2-230) , some Maolanas made it a must in all the Islami Sharias of different sects.
  2. This man-made insane inhumane "modification" took the character of Islam itself.
  3. Also it took the flavour of divinity and un-changeability, just like the Qur’aan.
  4. At times there is a conscious attempt to bypass the Sharia to save the chastity of the woman by selecting the great Hila Mia as the bridegroom.

And again, the basic question comes back. Why all the Muslim women have to pass their whole lives under the threat of being divorced at any time, without any reason shown, without getting any property earned by the hard labour of both the husband and wife? Why the qualities of the husband and the wife are not taken into account? Why a pious woman will have to pass her every moment under the wish of her husband, even if he is a scoundrel? Only because he is a man?

Many many articles/lectures are there to show all the good words in the Qur’aan and Hadis. Brother Masoud posted some in NFB. Sincere thanks to this sophisticated writer with all the patience of the world, for taking time to respond to a small person like me. But those are ABCs of Islam and never worked. Simply because those cannot work. Because those are not backed by law/punishment. In case of conflict of interest, those are destined to fail. We have to understand that advices/good words without the backing of punishment are not workable in today’s human society with complicated conflicts of different interests. That is exactly why these Islamic good words could never bring benefit and safety to Muslim women in recent years. On the other hand we saw them even to be burned to death in the name of Islam. And not a single Maolana uttered a single word against this killer "Islam". And now they are shouting/screaming to save Islam! Hah! If there is any "Islam-Destroyer" in the world, it is them, them, them! May be that is why Hadis says most of the Maolanas will go to hell.

 

No. The sacred social contract of a religion to save/help its followers is not maintained here with our women. They might not have missed a prayer in their lives, but their husbands can throw them on the road any moment by divorce. Islam does not save them; rather it strengthens the hands of those husbands. Some say that this is not real Islam. Well, where is that "Real Islam" then? Only in the Namaz and Hajj? Here innocent people are suffering and you say the medicine is there somewhere else? Bring it, bring it. Otherwise what is the use of that? Why for Nurjahan ( burned to death by Fatwa, in Madhukhali, Faridpur - -Hajar Bochhorer Bangali naree- Mahmud Shamsul Huq- page 257) , for the daughter of Jamela ( In Jessore, physically tortured so severely in the name of Fatwa on 1st November 2000 that her daughter lost speech – Newspaper ) and for thousands of Nurjahans of Sylhet, Firozas of Shatkhira, Kodbanus of Rangpur, Shelley Begums of Sylhet, Kohinoors of Manikganj, Taslimas of Coxs Bazar, Shahedas of Rangpur, Nosimuns of Bogura, the Qur’aan/Hadis have to be THE MOST DANGEROUS BOOKS in the world? Where was the "Real Islam" in last thousand of years? Where it is now?

Sorry, we did not see it in our lifetime in social applications. The "Real Islam" does not live in reality. So, let we the brothers act NOW. Only devoted rituals and idle prayers will not save our sisters from the venomous bite of this snake. Even the Prophet (SA)’s life shows he used to pray for success while making the effort. If it is too late, one day our sisters will wake up with anger like a cyclone against the brutality we inflicted on them for centuries in the name of Islam. And they will change the geography of our faces with their "Jh(n)atar Barhi" ( hit with their brooms) with the bit of Kaharba……TAKE - tete nage - dhin, DHAGE -tete nage - dhin………………..
