SIMILARITY
===================================================================
Fatemolla: There are striking similarities between Islam and Sonaton Dhormo in some
aspects, as shown by MOHAGURU. Those include 7 heavens/Shorgo, 7
hells/Norok, Proloy/Keyamot, PoolSirat/Boitoroni, Chitrogupto/Mankir-Nakir, Jomdoot/Azraeel, Judgement/Bichaar, rewards/punishments, wife-beating, etc. etc. Would somebody spend time to make a list? What about you, Avijit? You are already half the way. Avijit: Thanks Fatemolla Bhai, I wish to add Mohaguru's interesting analysis (the whole list) first for you.
Why does Islam resemble idolatry?
We hear that there is no room for superstition in refined and purified Islam. Especially, idolatrous worshipers are considered to be immersed in superstition. Although the Vedas did not teach idolatry in particular yet in later days the Vedic religion, influenced by the mythologies, became thoroughly idolatrous. But the surprising thing is that there are many similarities between the idolatrous Vedic religion and the religion of Islam. Leaving aside the minor details, there is a close resemblance between
the two on the following points:(i) There is only one God "Ekmebadditiyom" - "La Ilaha Illalah"-(None but
Allah is to be worshipped).(ii) "Attma obinosshor" - The souls of all the creatures were created simultaneously (immortal).
(iii) "Porokal e bisshah" -Eternal life after death and facing the consequences of worldly activities in the after life.
(iv) "Shorgo - norok" - The two kingdoms of the other world-heaven and hell.
.(v) "Shat shorgo - shat norok" - Seven levels of heaven and seven levels of hell.
(vi) "Shorgo baaganmoy, norok ognimoy" - Heaven considered as a place full of gardens and orchards contrasted with hell as a place full of blazing fire.
(vii) "Shorgo aakashpaney (uporey)" - Heaven is situated up in the sky.
(viii) "Punnatta der shorgo-bash, paapider norokbaash" - The virtuous to be rewarded with a passport to paradise and the sinners to be condemned to hell.
(ix) "Jom-dut kortrik jobon horon" - The Messenger of Death (Angel Azrail) taking away the lives of men.(x) "Bhogobaan shorgey shinghashoney aasheen" - God's permanent seat in heaven and His throne.
.
(xi) "Stob -stutitey bhgobaan shontushto" - God (Allah) is fond of adoration and adulation.(xii) "Upashonar shomoy montro uccharon" - Saying one's prayers in incantatory verses (correct recitation of verses from the Holy Quaran).
(xiii) "Prothom manob Monu" Man descending from a human ancestor-the first created man: Adam.
(xiv) "Noroboli - Poshuboli" - Introduction of the ritual of sacrificing animals instead of human beings.
(xv) "Poshubolitey Bhogoban proshonno" - The sacrifice of animals by way of worship regarded as an act of virtue (Kurbaani - Eid ul azha).(xvi) "Upbash e punno laav" - Fasting in the name of God regarded as an act of vil't1!e (Mahe Ramadan).
(xvii) "Tirtho Bhromon e punno-laav- Kashi/Goya" - "Going on pilgrimage for absolution from sin-pilgrimage to Vanaras and Gaya (to Mecca and Medina).
(xviii) "Bhogobaan tumi Jugey Jugey Dut Pathaeycho barey barey.." - God has (sent) His messengers (angels).
(xix) "Jaanu pathiya Upashona" - Kneeling down at worship (prayer).
(xx) "Shoshthango Pronipaat" - Prostrating oneself as a sign of worship or reverence (bowing in prayer so as to touch the prayer mat with the forehead).
(xxi) "Koro-jorey Prarthona" - Praying to God with folded hands (making supplications to Allah with cupped hands before finishing the prayer with 'Amen').
(xxii) "Nirdishto shaney (Mondirey) Upashona" - A fixed place for daily worship, a temple (mosque).
(xxiii) "Mala Jopa" - Telling one's beads (reciting holy words silently to a certain number or counting on the rosary) ~ "Tosbih Jopa".
(xxiv) "Tri-shondha Upashona" - Worshipping the deities at fixed hours-morning worship, mid-day worship and evening worship (saying prayers five times a day).
(xxv) "Dhormogrontho pathey punno laav" - Acquiring virtue by reciting Holy verses.(xxvi) "Kaaj er purbey Iswar er naam uccharon ~"Narayanong Shomskrittom noboishnob norottomomo" - Uttering the name of God at the start of a work ("Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim"~In the name of Allah the most Merciful).
(xxvii) "Guru - dikkha" - Being initiated into spiritual lessons by Guru (Murid IMurshid: disciple and spiritual guide).

(xxxi) "Boitarani paar howa" - crossing Pusirat, the sowrd like thin bridge.
After giving the detailed list of close resemblance between the two - Mohaguru made an interesting comment. He said, "It appears from the above list of similarities that either the idolaters have borrowed these matter from Islam or vice versa. But it is certain that the successors have borrowed from the predecessors. Who are the successors ?"
Fatemolla bhai/ Dr. Sina, would you please mention some pagan heritege that Islam conquered ... I have found some of the reflection in Quran also. There is one verse where Allah (!!) swear by sun and moon. I cannot remember the exact verse. Can anyone help ? FreePerson Smith: Ah, but gentlemen, you know what the Islamists' reply to this list of similarities will be, don't you? The Hindus originally practiced Islam, and the Hindu Scriptures were sent by Allah, only they were "corrupted" over thousands of years by the Hindus. So of course there would be similarities in practices and beliefs -- those are the vestiges of Islam that the Hindus held onto.
You see, the Prophet really was an amazingly clever man. If he were living today, undoubtedly he would be chief marketing officer at some huge corporation like General Motors or Hewlett Packard. He was a marketing genius.
An ordinary Prophet brings a "new" religion and must fight constant attacks from those of the "old" religion who decry its legitimacy. But a Prophet who's a marketing genius says to his critics: "No, I bring the old religion, it is YOU who are practicing the illegitimate religion."
A marketing genius, that is what Muhammad was. (From: "FreePerson Smith" <freeperson55@hotmail.com> Date: Wed Jul 4, 2001 5:10 pm Subject: Re: [mukto-mona] SIMILARITY.)

Fatemolla: A good start by Avijit. There are other ones as well. Keep it saved, make it complete.
One super similarity is missed. Both the religions could not stop production of cruel clergies to exploit common people. Both failed to stop talking peace and continuing oppression.
Now a real loud voice of oppressed is needed.

Narayan Gupta: Hi fatemolla, If I am correct, one of the last prophets of the original faiths said that Sambhabami (Hu)Jugey (Hu)Jugey, meaning that I will appear whenever there is a chaos. Who knows he may be right. After all, what was going on in the deserts of Mesopotamia some 2000 years after he wrote that was not not much different than a modern day chaos/hujug.
That was point number one. The second point is that I heard the complain from a Patel Motel owner that the very concept of Heaven and Hell was stolen from the Gujarati prophets by the Semitic tribes and the subsequent Semitic splinter tribes including the Philistines. Some thought for food, what do you say?
Another aspect of the Pillar of the Sanatanites: Remember Judhisthir (some spell as Yudhisthira an apostle of truth they claim) lied (sort of) to cheat Unbeatable Dronacharya, when he said Aswathama Hata Eti Gaja. The purpose was to deceive warrior Dronacharya by falsely announcing death of his son, Aswathama. What actually happened the army of Judhisthir killed an elephant by the same namesake and announced that Aswathama (the elephant - in low voice) has died. Can you beat this any other book of Oracle? I am just curious. (From: "Narayan Gupta" <narayangupta@hotmail.com> Date: Thu Jul 5, 2001 6:33 pm Subject: Re: [mukto-mona] SIMILARITY.)
